Afghan-policeKABUL: (Middle East Press) Taliban militants have reportedly attacked a police check-post in southern Helmand province in which at least six policemen were killed and two others wounded, officials said on Monday.

The officials added that the incident took place in Kobandi area of Sangin district two days ago after Taliban militants launched attack on police and started clashes.

One policeman is also missing during the clashes with Taliban, according to reports.

Meanwhile, Nabi Jan Mullahkhil, the Helmand Police Chief has confirmed the clashes but rejecting claims of casualties among policemen. ‎

Mullahkhil said that two Taliban militants have been killed and a policeman was injured.

However, the Taliban have not commented in this regard so far.
