MEP: Boko Haram terrorist group has killed at least four women in a remote village in Nigeria’s northeast.
Local vigilantes said on Saturday the brutal incident took place after the terror group beheaded the women during ‘Iftar’ timing in Borne state.
Babakura Kolo, a vigilante in Maiduguri told AFP, the militants stormed Mairari village, 80 kilometres from Maiduguri, on seven motorcycles late Friday, and picked four women, aged between 27 and 45, from their homes.
“We believe the killings were targeted, the gunmen were from all indications after the husbands of the women,” he said.
“They killed the women when they didn’t find their husbands”.
Boko Haram which means “Western education is forbidden” has killed more than 20,000 and displaced 2.3 million from their homes and was ranked as the world’s deadliest terror group by the Global Terrorism Index in 2015.
