KABUL: (Middle East Press) Afghan National Security Forces launched fresh military operations across the country in which at least 109 Taliban militants were killed and 96 others wounded in the past 24 hours, Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday.

General Zahir Azimi, spokesman for the Ministry of Defense said that the operations were conducted in 12 provinces of Afghanistan adding that an Afghan soldier has also been killed in insurgents’ fire.

Azimi added that Afghan security forces have also seized a number of weapons and ammunition during the operations.
