Afghan Army Kills 79 Taliban Insurgents: MoD

afghan_army_operationKABUL: (Middle East Press) Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) Launched fresh military operations across the country which resulted in killing of at least 79 Taliban insurgents and 25 others wounded, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) announced on Thursday.

A statement issued by MoD states the operations were conducted in 10 provinces of the country such as Logar, Kunduz, Sar-e-Pul, Baghlan, Faryab, Urozgan, Diakunidi, Kandahar, Zabul and Helmand provinces.

The statement adds, at least 11 Taliban insurgents were also arrested during the operations.

Afghan forces have also seized a number of heavy and light weapons.

The anti-government Taliban militants however are yet to comment regarding the report.
