A Woman Thrown into River by Taliban
KABUL: (Middle East Press) A woman has been fatally thrown into the river by Taliban militants in Wardoj District of Badakhshan province Sunday morning, officials said Monday.
Taliban rebels had earlier kidnapped the woman in Tir-Giran village and have gravely killed her by chucking her into the river, Asadullah Hakimi, police chief of Wardoj District said.
Hakimi added that Taliban have threatened to kill some other women as well in the district.
According to Hakimi, Taliban Kidnaps women for having links with government and later kill them.
Meanwhile, Zofnon Hasam Natiq the director of women affairs said that they would be seriously concerned over the fate of women in the areas under Taliban control if the government does not retake them.
However, the Taliban militants are yet to comment in this regard.
