30 ISIS Fighters Killed In Nangarhar’s Achin

KABUL: (Middle East Press) At least 22 Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militants have been killed and eight others wounded following gun battle with Afghan security force in Achin district of eastern Nangarhar province, an official said Saturday.

Head of staff of border police of eastern zone, Ayub Hussainkhel said clashes between the two groups have been ongoing in the district over the past two months in order to eliminate the terrorists in the area.

Hussainkhel added, the militants were killed in past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, other reports suggest, spokesperson of Nangarhar police headquarters survived a bomb blast on way to Achin district this morning.

The incident occurred when Colonel Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal was going to participate in the security operation against ISIS and Taliban in Achin district, when his vehicle ran over a landmine in Shinwar Qala area of Bati Kot district.

According to officials, the attack caused no casualties.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
