Ten Members of Taliban Joint Peace Process in Badakhshan

KABUL: (Middle East Press) Ten members of Taliban group joint peace process and handed over their weapons to the police in Badakhshan province, an official said.

Sakhidad Haidari, deputy director of Badakhshan province said the group of ten have surrendered on Tuesday in northern Province of the country.

Haidari said these Taliban individuals led by Ahmad Maqsod have handed over their weapons and promised not to take any criminal action against the government.

This group of Taliban insurgents were involved in military actions against the government in Baharak district of Badakhshan province in the past two years.

Taliban militants in parts of Badakhshan province, including Baharak district based on the correctness or incorrectness of the news have not yet commented.
