Insurgents Torch Girls’ School in Logar

girls school in LogarKABUL: (Middle East Press) A girls’ school has reportedly been torched by unknown gun men in Pul-e-Alam, capital of Logar province, in the neighborhood of Kabul, an official said Wednesday.

“The incident took place around 03:00 am on Wednesday when two gunmen entered to Haji Guloon Girls’ Secondary School in Haji Guloon village of the province and set the classrooms and principal’s office on fire,” Mohammad Shapoor Arab, Logar governor’s spokesman said.

Some rooms have badly burned along with desks, chairs, school books and other documents, according to Shapoor.

Local villagers arrived on time and distinguished the fire to prevent further damages to the school.

The school building would be reconstructed soon as over 500 girls were studying in it.
