Afghanistan Signs ‘Military Cooperation Agreement’ with China

-china-afghanistanKABUL: (Middle East Press) Afghan Defense Ministry signed a memorandum of cooperation with China’s Ministry of Defense.

The Ministry of Defense issued a statement on Monday states, Masoom Stanekzai, Head of Defense Ministry visited China’s Defense Minister and signed a military cooperation agreement.

The statement adds, Stanekzai, led a delegation has participated in the sixth session of the course “Strategic Studies Institute” in Beijing, the capital of China.

However, no more details were given regarding the agreement.

The agreement comes as Russia earlier announced its readiness to assist and equip the Afghan forces.

Stanekzai has also met with Iran’s Deputy Defense Minister on the sidelines of the summit and discussed the country’s security issues.

It’s worth mentioning that China has been one of the most important supporter countries to Afghanistan in the past 14 years.
