Islamic State Shares Audio Claiming Afghanistan Leader is Alive

Hafiz-SaeedKABUL: (Middle East Press) The So-called Islamic State terrorist group has released an audio tape on Monday claiming that the movement’s leader for Afghanistan is still alive, denying reports that he was killed in a U.S. drone strike in Nangarhar province.

The audio tape which was released today, contains a voice with the terror group claiming belongs to Hafiz Saeed.

However, the audio could not be independently verified.

Saeed, a Pakistani spokesman for the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) who pledged allegiance to Islamic State terror group last year, was reportedly killed in the Achin district of Nangarhar province late on Friday, according to National Directorate of Security (NDS).

Regarding the report, the Afghan officials have not commented yet.
