Chief of Helmand’ Nawa District Shot Dead by Taliban

KABUL: (Middle East Press) The Administrative chief of Nawa district of southern Helmand province, Mr. Abdul Manaf, has been shot by the Taliban militants in southeastern of Ghazni province Monday afternoon.

According to local officials, the incident occurred following an ambush by the Taliban militants.

The officials said that Manaf was in his own vehicle travelling on Kabul-Kandahar highway in the vicinity of Moqor district when the militants opened fire on him.

The Taliban militants however, did not comment regarding the attack so far.

Ghazni is one of the instable provinces of Afghanistan where insurgents are frequently carry out insurgency activities and target civilians.
