40 Insurgents Killed In Afghan Military Operations

KABUL: (MEP) Afghan National Security Army have conducted military operations in various provinces of the country in which at least 25 insurgents were killed and 15 others wounded in past 24 hours, Ministry of Defence said Thursday.

A statement issued by the ministry states, the military operations were launched Nazyan district of Nangarhar province, Wota Pur district of Kunar, Chora district of Uruzgan, Homa Shahr district of Jawzjan, Darqad and Gereshk districts of Helmand province.

At least seven members of security forces were also killed in operations, the statement added.

According to the statement, Afghan Army arrested 18 insurgents as well as seizing a number of weapons and ammunitions during the operations.

They also successfully discovered and disabled 10 rounds of bomb mines.

This comes as the anti-government militants are already involved in militancy activities in many districts of the provinces and clashes are ongoing to clear the areas.
