Yemen Needs Urgent Humanitarian Assistance

KABUL: (Middle East Press) Over 47 per cent of the population lives in Yemen below the poverty line with an average income of two pounds a day.

Yemen has been recognized the poorest country in Middle East.

Currently in a state of war, citizens of this country are suffering from shortage of food, unemployment and internal displacement.

According to European Union’s echo fact sheet, over 15.9 million people are in need of some form of humanitarian assistance.

Over 1.6 million people are suffering from severe malnutrition across the country that includes 840,000 boys and girls of ages between ages of 6 months to 4 years.

However, Iran has previously demanded for international humanitarian aid for Yemen and its effected people.
