Woman Raped by Son-in-law in Badakhshan
KABUL: (Middle East Press) A woman has been reportedly raped by her son-in-law in Tagab district of northeastern Badakhshan province of Afghanistan, local authorities reported.
Nasratullah Nayel, the district administrative chief said the incident has taken place earlier when the Taliban militants were controlling the district which resulted into delays to start prosecution of the perpetrator.
According to Nayel the offender was identified as Habibullah was freed on bail by the district attorney general but the case was recently re-opened after the family of the victim opened a complaint.
Violence against women has rapidly increased during the recent and past years in different provinces of Afghanistan.
