Washington hosts NATO foreign ministers; Afghanistan and peace

NATO foreign ministers will focus on talks with the Taliban in Afghanistan at their new summit in the United States.

The summit will be held tomorrow (April 04) in Washington, DC; Middle East Press reported.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg says the foreign ministers will discuss the role of NATO troops in countering terrorist attacks and US efforts to reach a political agreement with the Taliban.

He said that an effort was made to find a comprehensive and al-inclusive plan of recent Peace talks to determine how the presence of NATO troops would be.

However, it should be said that any agreement on Afghanistan without Pakistan cant be useful, it is clear to everyone that Islamabad plays an important role in the Afghanistan Peace Process.

The country has become a place for equipping and accoutering of Armed Taliban, and Afghan government leaders have repeatedly emphasized it; thus; it is necessary that NATO FMs reach a consensus on pressing Pakistan.

On the other hand, the role and presence of NATO forces in Afghanistan should be more effective than it is now.

At the same time, lets wait for outcome of the NATO summit tomorrow to see its effects on the Loya Jirga and the Qatar Summit.
