The American F-16 aircraft has collapsed on Tuesday afternoon near the military airport in Bagram of northern Parwan province, a statement by US defense ministry said.
The incident occurred during takeoff and the pilot managed to run through emergency exit and has been rescued by coalition forces.
According to the statement, investigations have been launched into the incident and the cause of the crash is still unknown.
