US Delivers 5 PC-12 Observation Aircraft to Afghan National Army

KABUL: (Middle East Press) The Afghan National Army (ANA) will receive five more Pilatus PC-12 reconnaissance aircraft from the United Stated in the near future.

KABUL: (Middle East Press) The Afghan National Army (ANA) will receive five more Pilatus PC-12 reconnaissance aircraft from the United Stated in the near future.

Gen. Dawlat Waziri said the Afghan special forces have already received 13 Pilatus PC-12 aircraft and are in service with the 777 unit of the Afghan army special forces.

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) issued a statement said the planes will be transported based on a contract made in 2012.

The United Stated is also willing to deliver 20 A-29 Super Tucano light air support aircraft to Afghan Air Force which will help replace the Mi-35 attack helicopter that reaches the end of its service life in January 2016.

According to reports, the first of 20 A-29 Super Tucano aircraft 26 are scheduled to arrive early next year, in preparation for the Afghanistan pilot and maintenance training mission.
