Abdul Rauf Ahmadi, a spokesman for Herat police headquarters told the Middle East News Agency the incident took place at around 1:45pm.
“The attack ascended from the explosive materials or the rockets planted in a motorcycle type of ‘Zaranj’” Ahmadi added.
According to the source, the building of the compound was also damaged in the attack.
Two women and a child were among the injured.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
However, Ahmadi noted investigations began.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Rafiq Sherzai, administrative director of the Herat Regional Hospital told the Middle East News Agency that seven civilians, including two children, have been transferred to the hospital.
