Unknown Killers kidnap ministry of mines employees in Baghlan province

KABUL: (MEP) – According to reports, unknown gunmen have kidnapped a number of government employees who were working for the ministry of mines of Afghanistan, khaama reported.

Local government officials said, the incident took place in Tala Wa Barfak district on Saturday afternoon.

Faiz Mohammad Amiri, district chief for Tala Barfak confirming the report said a number of ministry of mines employees were kidnapped by unknown gunmen, however he said the exact number of hostages are not clear.

He said the employees of mines ministry were on their way from capital Kabul to Bamiyan province when they were abducted, and local tribal elders and Afghan security forces have launched a search operation to free the hostages.

No group has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident. Insurgents from Hezb-e-Islami party led by Gulbuddin Hekmatyar and Taliban group are operating in the region.
