Two US soldiers killed in Afghanistan

Two US soldiers were killed in Afghanistan as US Secretary of State visits Kabul.

Resolute Support mission has confirmed the incident, according to Middle East Press.

Resolute Support Mission has released a newsletter today (Wednesday, June 26) providing no details on area and manner of the killing, in the other hand it says full report is coming out later.

“In accordance with U.S. Department of Defense policy, the name of the service members killed in action are being withheld until 24 hours after notification of next of kin is complete,” newsletter added.

The two US service members are killed when the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met NUG leaders yesterday in Kabul amid peace talks and agreements with the Taliban.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, claimed as tweeting, the forces were killed in group`s ambush in the Syedabad district of Maidan Wardak province.

As a result, the number of US soldiers killed in Afghanistan in the first seven months of 2019 reached ten.

It should be noted that since 2001 nearly 2,500 US soldiers have been killed during the war in Afghanistan and about 21,000 other soldiers have been injured.
