The explosion took place on Tuesday afternoon near Balochistan University in busy Sariab Road area, according to security sources.
Security forces have cordoned off the area after the blast and the wounded people were rushed to the Civil hospital for medical assistance.
Nature of the blast was not immediately clear.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
