Gen. Sakhi Ghafoori, Badakhshan police chief told Middle East News Agency the incident happened last night in Yaftal district border areas.
The incident occurred after a resident of Yaftal district named Abdul Rashid, collected the mountain plant and his wife had cooked it, Ghafoori added.
According to the source, after eating this plant, the father and the mother became seriously ill and were taken to the central hospital and their children were also killed by eating the horrible plant.
The partners are being treated and their health conditions are stable, the police chief of Badakhshan stated.
Yaftal district of northern Badakhshan province is located near the border with Tajikistan.
