KABUL: (Middle East Press) Two US drone attacks in eastern Kunar and Nangarhar provinces has left at least 20 people dead in the past 24 hours.
According to reports, one of the strikes targeted the positions of pro-Taliban militants near the Pakistani border in Kunar Province late on Tuesday killing 11 pakistani militants including six senior commanders.
However, another US drone strike killed nine Pakistani militants in Nazyan District in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar Province.
The slain militants were affiliated with the Lashkar-e-Islam, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Abdullah Azam Brigade terrorist groups, Pakistani security officials said.
Since 2004, the US has been carrying out drone strikes in Afghanistan and several other Muslim countries, such as Yemen, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Somalia despite international criticism.
