Trump set for meeting Un at DMZ

The 3rd meeting of US and North Korean leaders is scheduled to take place unprecedentedly in the heavily fortified zone dividing the two Koreas.

According to International News of Middle East Press, South Korean President Moon Jae-in announced that President Donald Trump will meet Sunday with North Korea’s Kim Jong Un at the Demilitarized Zone separating the North and South.

The visit, which was unannounced and urgently planned, was requested by Trump.

The Panmunjom area is known as the “ceasefire village” between the two Koreas, and negotiations between the two countries are usually carried out in the same place.

“Suddenly, the idea came to me to meet with Kim Jong-Un in the border region between the two Koreas,” the president said at a joint press conference with President of South Korea.

So far, none of the US presidents have entered the region during their governance.

North Korea has not responded to this move by the US President.

Their last summit in Vietnam ended abruptly with no progress on denuclearization talks.
