KABUL (MEP) – Faryab Police say the Taliban shot a tribal elder to death in Almar district for failing to pay 10,000 AFs in cash.
The incident took place in the Deh-Bashi village of Almar district yesterday, according to the Faryab Police statement.
“Fazel Ahmad, a 45-year-old popular figure who is father to seven children, was shot dead by the Taliban,” the statement said.
Fazel Ahmad was recently appointed by the people as the head of the village development council, but shot dead by the Taliban after he refused to pay 10,000 AFs in cash to the group.
Faryab police say the incident took place in a Taliban-controlled area.
