Noor-habib Gulbahari police chief of Baghlan told reporters on Tuesday that in two separate cases the three were arrested by the National Directorate of Security personnel and police officers from the Narcotics in Pul-e-Khumri, the provincial capital of Baghlan province.
He added that one suspect was detained of smuggling 26 kg of hashish and opium to Kabul city and two others on charges of smuggling 26 kilograms of heroin in Mazar-e-Sharif, were arrested after identification.
Meanwhile, the police chief of the province warned that any willfulness and illegal activities in the province will be traced and will not allow traffickers to prosecute.
High rate in cultivation and production of narcotics has led the drug traffickers arrest graph go up in the province compared to previous years and the counter-narcotics officials also concerned about doubling the poppy cultivation.
