Three Dead As Car Bomb Targets Police Station In Turkey’s Mardin

blast in TurkeyMEP: A car bomb attack targeted a police station in Turkey’s southeastern province of Mardin killing three people and several others wounded, the country’s security sources reported.

The Wednesday’s blast came a day after 11 people were killed in a bombing in Istanbul, targeted the police station in the town of Midyat, north of the Syrian border in the mainly Kurdish region.

In televised comments, Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said: “One police officer and two citizens have been confirmed dead so far.”

Images carried by Turkish media showed a massive plume of black smoke rising from the rubble of the severely-damaged police station.

Tuesday’s attack was the fourth on Istanbul this year, dealing another blow to the tourism industry.
