Opening Of Cultural And Sports Center Of Imam Khomeini In Kirkuk

KABUL: (MEP) Kirkuk administration confirmed that Iran supported in a clear and explicit stance Iraqis in various fields, especially against ISIS. Meanwhile the need has become urgent to maintain the achievements by addressing extremist ideas and relocating displaced people to their liberated cities and initiate real reform according to Kirkuk administration.

KABUL: (MEP) Kirkuk administration confirmed that Iran supported in a clear and explicit stance Iraqis in various fields, especially against ISIS. Meanwhile the need has become urgent to maintain the achievements by addressing extremist ideas and relocating displaced people to their liberated cities and initiate real reform according to Kirkuk administration.

On the other hand, the Iranian consul in Irbil stressed that Iran gave the people of Kirkuk cultural and sports center on the 38th anniversary of its revolution.

This came during the opening of the cultural and sports center of Imam Khomeini attended by the governor of Kirkuk, Najm al-Din Karim, the Iranian consul in Irbil Morteza Ebadi, Aso Mamend an official of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan organizations in Kirkuk, and a group of officials, the people of Kirkuk and leaders of security forces as well as popular mobilization forces.

“The opening of the cultural and sports center in Kirkuk came in Iran’s good intention in concomitant with the anniversary of the Islamic revolution,” the governor of Kirkuk said in his speech.

He noted, “Iraq is witnessing victories achieved by the Peshmerga, federal troops and the popular mobilization forces on the battlefield against ISIS terrorists”.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has a clear and explicit stance in helping Iraqis in various fields, especially in providing support to confront ISIS terrorists. Iran hosted in 1991, millions of displaced people who fled from the brutality of the Baath regime,” Karim explained calling on everyone to work on removing sectarianism and racism ideas —the legacy of hatred left over from the Baath regime to ISIS terrorist.

The Iranian consul in Irbil Morteza Ebadi appreciated Kirkuk governor, officials, its residents and scholars for their role in the maintenance of Kirkuk and facing the challenges. The center is the first of its kind being built by Iran in Kirkuk, as it is the first time that the Iranian consul in Irbil, visit the city of Kirkuk.
