Taliban’s Deadly Attack On AUAF Leaves 10 Dead, 44 Injured

attack on AUAF kills 10MEP: As a result of the armed Taliban attack on the American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) in Kabul’s Dar-ul-aman road, 10 people, including seven students and three security personnel were killed and 44 others, including 35 students and nine security personnel were injured.

The incident took place when three attackers entered the university on Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm.

Security officials say the first attacker detonated explosives embedded in a vehicle near the walls of the university and then the other two attackers entered the building and began fighting with security forces.

Abdul Rahman Rahimi, Kabul police chief in the area told reporters that clashes with the attackers continued until around 5:00 am Thursday and eventually two attackers killed.

The Middle East correspondent reported from the area that security forces blocked roads leading to the Dar-ul-aman Palace and people are not allowed to cross the route.

The attack on AUAF comes as about 15 days ago two foreign teachers of the university have been kidnaped by armed men and until now their fate is unknown.
