Taliban Veiled Members Clash with Security Forces in Faryab

The Taliban members wearing veils clashed with security forces after they were stopped at a security checkpoint in Qaysar district of Faryab province.

Security forces identified and stopped three armed Taliban members, including two veiled, today Sunday, Sept 22, in Saq local checkpoint that faced clashes with the group militants, MEP reports.

A newsletter from the Interior Ministry (MoI) said two gunmen were killed and one was arrested in the clash.

The Taliban intended to attack the office of the Independent Election Commission in Qaisar district, newsletter added.

The Interior Ministry says one police officer was killed and another injured during the clash.

The armed Taliban have not commented so far.
