Taliban Kills Popular Uprising Commander In Baghlan

clashes in BaghlanMEP: Security officials in northern Baghlan province say the armed Taliban group has launched offensive attack on the popular uprising security outposts in Tash-Chashma area in which the militants killed commander Safar, a well-known commander of the popular uprsing in Berka district.

Baghlan security police chief, Amir Gul Hussain told the Middle East News Agency that four armed Taliban were also killed in the clashes and six others wounded.

He said security forces have been deployed in the area and the Taliban are retreating.

However, a local resident on condition of anonymity told the Middle East News Agency the armed Taliban since Thursday evening from 4:00 pm started heavy attack on commander Safar checkpoint and continued until Friday evening with the killing of the commander.

According to him, it has repeatedly contacted officials in the province and called for help, but the police chief of Baghlan province and Berka district police chief did not send any reinforcement to help the popular uprising soldiers stuck in war.
