Omar Zwak, spokesman for the governor of Helmand told the Middle East News Agency the incident took place on Tuesday morning at around 4:00 AM in Majeerbazar area.
He said the militants stopped three vehicles including a bus carrying passengers and have taken the passengers to an unknown location. The exact number of hostages yet to be confirmed.

The gunmen released 18 women who were inside the bus type (304) along with their children but taken the men with them, Zwak added.
Investigations began to find the passengers.
The abductions comes as earlier, gunmen have kidnapped hundreds of passengers on the highways of north of the country.
