Taliban Joined The Government With Their Families In Jawzjan

Taliban joined peace process in JawzjanMEP: A group of 35 armed Taliban along with their families have joined the peace process and the government in Jawzjan province, local officials said Sunday.

Abdul Hafeez Khashi, head of Jawzjan Police Chief Security told the Middle East Press the group of armed Taliban in the surrounding areas of Dasht-e-Laili between the two provinces of Jawzjan and Faryab were active.

He said Mullah Taher and Malem Khan Zarqawi are the leaders of the group that after joining the government, urged to implement welfare projects such as clinics, schools and other facilities in their lives.

Jawzjan local officials have also said that this group of 35 people with ten members of their families have joined the peace process, were aided from the ease of life and in Khwaja Do Koh district and the city of Sheberghan, housing facilities were provided for them.

Taliban have not yet commented in this regard.
