Taliban Conducted Attack on Funeral in Nangarhar, Says Saleh
KABUL (MEP) – Afghan VP Amrullah Saleh says Taliban were behind deadly suicide attack on a funeral in Nangarhar.
Vice President Amrullah Saleh headed to Nangarhar province Sunday, May 17, to investigate Tuesday’s bloody attack.
In his trip, Saleh met with the families of the victims of the bloody incident.
He said the attack was carried out by the Taliban.
Nearly 30 people were killed and more than 50 were injured in a deadly terrorist attack on the funeral of a former local police commander, Shaikh Akram in the Shiwa district of Nangarhar province.
Although the government blames the Taliban for the attack; But the group has denied any involvement.
The Presidential Palace (Arg) also said after the attack that the Taliban could not escape the bloody attacks in Kabul and Nangarhar.
