Taliban Attacks Foreign Tourists Convoy In Herat
MEP: As a result of an armed Taliban attack on a convoy of foreign tourists in Chesht district of Herat province, a number of these tourists were killed and wounded.
Jilani Farhad, spokesman for the governor of Herat said the incident took place this morning in Simi area in which at least five tourists were wounded.
Farhad whereas did not provide information about the identity of the tourists; said they were heading towards Oba district when met with Taliban ambush.
The security forces have reached the area and clashed with Taliban, he further added.
Taliban have not commented so far on this issue, but there are unconfirmed reports that 11 foreign tourists killed in the attack and five were wounded.
