Samim Khpalwak, spokesman for the governor of Kandahar city told Middle East Press the suicide attacker was shot dead by police officers at around 11:00am in Sara-e-Malang area in the fifth police district of the city.
According to him, the intelligence officers were looking for him from two days.
Khpalwak said the explosives that was inserted with the suicide bomber were detonated as a result of shooting in which only the suicide bomber [himself] was killed no casualties caused to others.
This comes as yesterday the National Directorate of Security (NDS) arrested four groups of Haqqani network comprised of 19 militants, in Kandahar city.
