The attack took place in Sorkh Rod district when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives near a bus carrying Afghan National Army staff, local security forces confirmed.
Meanwhile, Ehsaasnullah Shinwari, head of Jalalabad hospital said they have received 12 dead bodies along with 38 injured. With some of them being in critical condition.
The suicide attacker was reportedly carried out his explosives by a Rickshaw vehicle targeted the security forces.

President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani condemned the suicide attack in strong terms saying “the enemies of Afghanistan with their attacks once again showed that they are opposed to the development and progress of our beloved country.” A statement by his office said.
He said since the enemies of the Afghan people have lost power combating with security and defensive forces, thus, they keep targeting civilians.
Ghani expressed its deep sympathy and condolences to the families of the martyrs and for those wounded, wished full recovery.
No group has so far claim responsibility for the attack.
