Snowfall Death Toll Reaches Over 200 in Panjsher

KABUL: (Middle East Press) Following the latest deadly avalanche in northern Panjsher province more than two hundred people have lost their lives.

KABUL: (Middle East Press) Following the latest deadly avalanche in northern Panjsher province more than two hundred people have lost their lives.

Deputy provincial governor Abdul Khabir Bakhshi said the death toll from avalanches have reached to over 205 people and there are fears that the death toll could rise as several others are still missing.

Bakhshi added the avalanches hit five districts including the central district of Panjsher province where majority of the people lost their lives in Paryan and Hesa-e-Awal districts.

He said all the roads and the routes to the affected areas have been blocked and efforts have been put in place to clear the areas.
