Six Civilians, Two Army Soldiers Killed In Ghazni Province

Ghazni province-Middle East PressMEP: As a result of two separate roadside bomb blasts in Gilan and Andar districts of Ghazni province, six civilians, including two children, a girl and three women and two army soldiers were killed.

The blast in Azad area of Gilan district took place at around 8:00 am on Monday morning when a Zaranj motorcycle passed over it, Jawed Salangi, a spokesman for the governor of Ghazni province said.

Salangi added three women, two children and the tricycle driver were killed following the blast.

Meanwhile, at around 12:00 pm on Monday a National Army tank in the region Golaye Nazar Khan of Andar district has been targeted by a roadside bomb.

Mohammad Hanif Rezaye, a spokesman for the Afghan National Army brigade said the incident occurred when the convoy of the governor of Ghazni had gone to visit the areas under military operations in Andar district.

According to him, two ANA soldiers were killed, three others wounded and their tank was also destroyed.

Rezaye linked the two blasts to armed Taliban.

However, the Taliban did not comment on the report.
