Sibghatullah Mujaddedi Passed away

The first president of Mojahideen government and one of the most famous Jihadi leaders of Afghanistan died at the age of 93.

According to Middle East Press quoting his relatives; he passed away mid tonight (February 11) due to an illness he had.

He was born in 1925 in a clerical family and following the Saur Revolution in 1978 while People’s Democratic Party of Afghanistan was founded, he went to Pakistan and creating the Jebh-e-Nejat-e Melli (National Liberation Front) group started armed and political struggles against the government.

In 1992, following victory of Mojahiddeen, Sibghatullah Mojeddedi was elected head of the Afghan Interim Government.

After two months, he commanded the Islamic State’s leadership to Burhanuddin Rabbani the leader of Jamiat-e Islami party, based on Islam-Abad agreements.

Mujeddedi`s family and Jebh-e-Nejat-e Melli Party has said in an announcement that his body will be buried tomorrow (Wednesday) in Asheqan-o-Arefan graveyard in Kabul    .
