Shapur Zadran Survived Armed Attack In Bagrami

MEP: An attack by unidentified gunmen on one of the national cricket team’s players failed and he luckily survived the assault.  

Farid Hotak, the country’s Cricket Board spokesman told the Middle East Press the attack occurred on Saturday evening (7 January) on the vehicle of Shapur Zadran, in Bagrami area of capital Kabul.

He said Zadran’s vehicle partially damaged in the attack, but he and his brother received no casualties.

Motive behind the incident is unknown. Also no group or individual claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

However, suicide attacks and bombings regularly happen on prominent political and governmental figures but attack on athletes in the country is rare. Attack on Shapur Zadran is a disturbing incident.

Shapur Zadran is the country’s cricket team player who has special skills in throwing the ball quickly and years has been shone in international competitions in the national cricket team.
