Sayyed Sarwar Hussaini, a spokesman for Kunduz provincial police chief told “MiddleEastPress” that security forces have launched joint operations this morning to retake the city.
Hussaini added, around 9:30 am the new building of the central prison and a number of other government agencies have been fallen by the security forces and the Taliban militants are in retreat.
According to Hussaini, the security forces are advancing into the entire city with high morale and soon the whole city of Kunduz will be captured by security forces.
However, another spokesman for Kunduz police chief says that so far 50 percent of the city is in the hands of Taliban.
Taliban had announced yesterday that they would not cause any harm to the aid workers and human services but they have not yet commented regarding the today’s ongoing clashes.
