Saudi Covert Efforts To Attract Muslim Brotherhood

KABUL: (Middle East Press) According to Alkhalil Aljadid, Omar Deraj, Hamza Zawba and Jamal Abdul Sattar, members of the society of the Muslim Brotherhood traveled to Riyadh at invitation of Saudi king, Malik Salman and stayed there for more than 10 days.

Report says that leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood had secret meetings with Saudi senior intelligence officials and consultants and this action of Saudi King has been welcomed by the American authorities.

Sheikh Wajdi Ghanim, the cleric close to Muslim Brotherhood has told Dr. Adel Al Tarifi, an official of Aljazeera television network, a confidential meeting in Riyadh in the presence of some leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood like Mohamed Bin Salman, Jamal Abdul Sattar and Ashraf Badr Addin was held and the ways of Muslim Brotherhood’s entry to the political equations of Egypt was discussed.

King Salman, The new king of Saudi Arabia over the past few months has acted against polices of the former king and contrary to UAE’s agreement and intends to have close relations with Muslim Brotherhood although plans to conceal it from UAE and Qatar.

It is said that the officials of Turkey and Qatar persuaded some security officers particularly, Foreign Ministry officials of America to put pressure on Saudi Arabia to prevent king of supporting Muslim Brotherhood.

Riyadh doesn’t seek war with Muslim Brotherhood anymore and this is the reason of recent Erdogan’s visit to Riyadh and reducing tensions between Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

Experts on Egyptian politics confirm that Washington and Riyadh put al-Sisi under pressure in the parliamentary election to make him to interact and cooperate with the Muslim Brotherhood.

Recent position of the United Arabic Emirates reflects the concern of this country of Saudi Arabia’s new approach. The United Arabic Emirates believes Riyadh’s attitude change toward Muslim Brotherhood threatens national security and also other members of the Cooperation Council.

The United Arabic Emirates expressly has announced that will not smooth relations with Muslim Brotherhood under any circumstances and this will cause tensions between Riyadh-Abu Dhabi relations.
