Accord to the Azeri “Sizinyol” news agency quoting BBC, Muhammadov, said in an interview that Ilham Aliyev traveled to Saudi Arabia last summer, for bargaining to tackle falling oil prices with Saudi officials. Azerbaijan’s economy is strongly affected by oil prices fall. Increased costs of European competitions imposes a lot of pressure on the Azerbaijani state budget.

He also said Saudi Arabia has promised to Ilham Aliyev in this trip to offer grants and considerable investment as a compensation for a part of the consequences of reduced Azerbaijani oil prices in return for creating a cultural space for Takfiri Wahabis’ activities and making limitations for Iranian and Azerbaijani shiites.

According to this report, at the same time a few months before, Azerbaijani economic bankruptcy led to a 20% value reduction of manat against US dollar that Aliyev denied in a television interview.

After a year Ilham Aliyev confessed his strategic mistake with the dismissal of Eldar Mahmoudov who attempted a Saudi-sponsored coup against Ilham to declare war on Russia while arming North Caucasus Wahabi groups.

Also Nardaran events are another strategic blunder as a result of thought sediments that Saudi and Turkish influence brought about in the Azerbaijani government. The ostensibly Shiite president of Azerbaijan relying on Saudi Wahhabis, their betraying Shiite Muslim over the past year and Saudis breaking their promises in offering grants have put Ilham Aliyev in a critical condition.

In the last few days Azerbaijani Manat has lost fifty percent of its value against US dollar and this brings massive economic problems to the country.
