Saudi Arabia To Accept 25,000 Afghan Workers

salman-e1421976715549KABUL (MEP) At least 25,000 Afghan workers would soon head to Saudi Arabia, The Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Martyrs and Disabled (MoLSAMD) said Sunday.

A agreement was made between Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani during a phone call, MoLSAMD officials added.

King Salman told Ghani that his country is ready to accept 25,000 Afghan workers.

An Afghan delegation would travel to Saudi Arabia during the ongoing week to sign the agreement in this regard, Minister Nasrin Oryakhail told a graduation ceremony for 395 workers at the Afghan Korea Training Institute.

According to MoLSAMD, private travel agencies would pay travel costs for all the workers being dispatched to Saudi Arabia. The costs paid by the travel agencies would be cut from monthly salaries of the workers.

About the 395 newly-graduated workers, Oryakhail said receiving vocational training was needed by every person and was one of her ministry’s primary goals.
