Saudi Airstrikes Hit School Killing 10 Yemeni Children

ten children killed in Saudi attacksMEP: At least ten school children have lost their lives and some 28 others critically wounded in Saudi-led air strikes on a school in a rebel-held province of northern Yemen.

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) said on Saturday that the victims were aged between eight and 15 and attended a school in Haydan, a region in Saada province.

Pictures and videos were posted on social media showing dead and bloodied children wrapped in blankets.

The report comes a day after the UN human rights office said 272 civilians have been killed in Saudi’s aggressive attacks in the war-torn country in just four months alone this year.

A spokesman for Houthi movement, Mohammed Abdulsalam said Saudi warplanes “targeted” children at the Jomaa bin Fadhel school, in what he described as a “heinous crime”.

About 10,000 people have been killed since the Saudi aggression began in late March 2015. Yemenis say most of the victims in the Saudi airstrikes are civilians. The attacks by Riyadh are meant to reinstate the resigned president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.
