Salang Pass Blocked for Traffic
Salang highway has been blocked due to incessant snowfall and strong wind for traffic
According to Middle East Press, as a result of incessant snowfalls, strong wind and limited point of view today (Monday, February 04), the road was closed by Salang Pass safety and protection authorities.
Abdul Basir Habibi, Head of Salang Pass Safety and Protection Unit, said that they have closed the highway in order to prevent the economic and humanitarian casualties and vehicles trapped in the highway were transferred to a safe place.
According to him, the vehicles would remain stopped until strong winds and snowfall subsided and conditioned improved.
Salang pass which connects northern parts of Afghanistan to the capital Kabul has been blocked many times due to severe incessant snowfalls and strong storms in recent days.
