Salang Safety and Protection authorities say the highway is closed to all vehicles due to heavy snowfalls and strong storms in southern and northern Salang.
According to Middle East Press; as a result of heavy snowfalls and strong storms since yesterday, Salang pass closed.
Abdul Basir Habibi, the highway maintenance commander, said there is heavy snowfalls in southern Salang and strong storms in northern Salang.
According to him, based on forecasts, snowfalls and storms continue to tomorrow morning (Sunday, March 03) and the highway will be closed for traffic.
Habibi urged all compatriots to refrain from moving to the Salang until they are informed from reopening of Salang and being snow and storms subsided.
The Salang highway was closed for a long time due to continuous snow, this route is one of the most important pass which connects Kabul to the northern provinces of the country.
