‘Rumors About Internal Substitute For Compulsory Military Service Is Not True’
MEP: Imad Elias, al waseet head of recruitment, rejected rumors about the internal substitute for service obligation which was spread in cyberspace. He also stressed that these rumors are absolutely false.
Anyone who left Syria legally before or after the age of service and haven’t received military service book must go to the nearest Embassy to fill out the form and present residence document and unemployment certificate and pay the cost of substitute.
If he is a student in the second country, he could delay the service by providing a certificate student and sending Embassy confirmations to his family in Syria.
According to the Ministry resolution about a month ago, compatriots, who have illegally left the country due to the harsh conditions and intend to return to their homeland, could visit diplomatic board deployed in the second country to do the paperwork for postpone the military service.
If the second country is Turkey or Lebanon, resident delegations of the two countries will do the necessary paperwork including the issuance of passports, registration of residence document, etc.
If it be approved, there is a possibility to postpone the military service or pay the exchange. And they could complete the administrative procedures after returning to the country.
If there isn’t an embassy in the second country, inductees’ family head can fill out forms by personal responsibility. Deferment of military service inductee will have all the rights as well.
About the expatriates who are on caution the list:
Some of them have been exempted and the family head could go to the office to remove his name from caution list and do the paperwork. But who have left the country illegally after being in the caution list doesn’t include this clause.
Those who are exempt from military service are: who suffer from physical disabilities, who are an only child, who have two or more martyrs in the family and who paid the exchange.
Delay of training course is feasible only for resident living in the country.
