Rouhani to US: First Lift Sanctions, Then Let’s Talk
KABUL (MEP) — The Iranian President has urged that it is impossible to negotiate with US under sanctions.
President Hassan Rouhani, in a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron, discussed Iran Deal (JCPOA) issues and recent tensions in the Persian Gulf.
Iranian President said; “We are ready to return to JCPOA if agreements with the EU are finalized and Iran’s meeting with the Group 5+1 is possible only when sanctions are lifted,” IRNA reported.
“Talks with the US are meaningless as long as the unilateral sanctions are in place,” said Rouhani.
The two presidents have been talking to each other in recent months, and the French President is trying to mediate between Tehran and Washington, reducing tensions between the two countries and holding Iran Deal.
